The Judges of  the Appalachian Judicial Circuit recommend that parties seek the advice of a lawyer who will be familiar not only with the law but will also be familiar with the procedures of the court.  The information below may or may not be useful in understanding the different aspects of appearing in court including the paperwork and /or forms necessary to proceed in court.

Domestic Violence
While court personnel are not allowed to give legal advice, the Clerk's office may have the forms you need to file petitions under the Family Violence Act, which you can read about byclicking here. To see if you qualify for a Family Violence Protective Order or a Stalking Order,click here.  You may download forms from theGeorgia Clerks Authority website.
